SU’2020 SYE CELEBRATION!

The Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC) has been a leader and critical partner to WorkReady Philadelphia. Each summer, we provide Philadelphia teens with their first job and career exposure.

UAC is proud to share that for summer 2020 we have connected over 700 young people to over 100 local employers! Our youth had the chance to gain skills in financial literacy, digital literacy, marketing, graphic design, and many more career areas through virtual and in-person experiences.

#MoreThanASummerJob

The UAC Summer Youth Employment Program is proud to recognize the resilience, dedication, and passion of our youth, employers, stakeholders, and staff. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our society, our youth participants have overcome so many obstacles in this challenging time. They have shown us, now more than ever, why a summer work experience is #MoreThanASummerJob.

The SU’2020 SYE Project Showcase highlights countless perspectives and accomplishments of Summer 2020 from our youth participants. Click below to view all the youth-produced videos and presentations on YouTube.

“Rise Above the Influence” Final Project

Summer 2020’s project theme was, “Rising Above the Influence,” which provided an outlet for youth, and adults, to discuss and express issues that are directly affecting teens today. Our youth participants picked from various topics including, Social Justice, Racism, Youth Violence, Gun Violence, Mental Health, COVID-19, Opioid & Drug Prevention, stress, peer pressure. Check out the links below to visit our YouTube pages to view all of the 100+ projects submitted for this year’s showcase.
